quick question for everyone out there

Is sertaline (aka knock off zoloft) supposed to give you weirdly vivid dreams?

casue like. Full on plotlines with emotions so real I think its really happening up to the moment I get up for the day. I normally have weird dreams, but these are so emotionally charged I hate waking up from them.

I’m on Sertraline and have crazy vivid dreams too. I guess it’s some sort of strange side effect that some people experience.

It’s kind of cool, one night i fell in love with a character. They’ve died down revently cause i got off them, so i think it was the pills. I need to remember to take them >.>
I even had a semi-lucid dream!

this is amazing

this guy is so sick

I needed this right now. Anyone taking finals needs this right now.

I’m about to turn 30. I could have been valedictorian when I graduated High School but I was too lazy to complete the forms. I have a Bachelor’s from DeVry, where I left with an average 3.2 carrying an average course load of 18 credit hours (peak 24, nadir 14). I also have an Associate’s from a local college, and I am Phi Theta Kappa there.

Here’s what I can tell you.

No employer has ever asked for my GPA. No employer ever gave a SHIT about my grades. DeVry only cared about my ACT score, and my Bachelor’s lost me jobs because I was “overqualified”. Now that I’m using my Associate’s, no one cares about my grades, or degree. My employer cares about A) my hours, B) my practical quals.

Unless you’re pushing for the Ivy League, no one is going to care about your grades. Ever. Amen. So I say to you this: 3.0 or above works for most but honestly, just get a good score on your ACT or SAT (and remember, you can retake it!). College is not a guarantee of a good life or even a paycheck. If anything it’s a near-guarantee of crippling debt.

THAT DOES NOT MEAN DO NOT GO, but for god’s sake do your research on your degree. Know what to expect. Colleges are marketing departments and will tell you sweet lies to get your money because college doesn’t care and won’t coddle you.

DO SOMETHING THAT YOU LOVE. Find a way to make money in a way that you enjoy. It might not be the thing you enjoy most, but if you like it and it pays for what you enjoy most, well. That might be good enough.

Read. Travel. Take risks. Fuck up, try again. But enjoy it.

Godspeed.

sometimes we all need a dose of this.

Not true. In some places, you cannot retake the ACT to receive scholarships.

High School ACT score: 24/36

I applied to a University administered by a bigger University and received an out-of-state scholarship.

2 years of this and my GPA under engineering was: 3.8/4

I then had to transfer to the bigger University to continue my education (couldn’t afford to live in Omaha anymore). They then looked at my ACT score and told me it wasn’t high enough, and they would not accept retakes of the ACT to renew my scholarship.

I lost my education to some rinkydink test that I had no idea threatened to decide my fate. Right now, I’m a miserable Wal-Mart cashier that is constantly promised things like new positions and financial support from managers who will never deliver.

I don’t even want to apply to this college my parents want me to go to because it is entirely the same damn kind of college. I don’t need to relive the same tragedy. I want to go to a real place of learning that has sensible affordability and a promising plan that will help me develop work experience and find a real job.

This was incredibly powerful

I’m sure everyone has heard about the great Lake Baikal, and if you haven’t,boy, are you missing out.
This ancient lake, which is about 25 million years old, and thought to be the oldest in the world, contains 20% of the world’s unfrozen fresh water. That’s right, it contains just 1% less fresh water than all the Great Lakes combined, while it’s surface area is over 7 times smaller.
Why is that, you ask? It’s because Lake Baikal is the deepest lake in the world: It’s maximum depth is 1642 meters, which is deep enough for the Eiffel Tower to stand on itself 5 times and not reach the surface.
But it gets better: the Lake Baikal is among the clearest lakes of the world, so you can see the bottom to a depth of nearly 40 meters, and you can drink right from it, no purifying needed. Furthermore, Lake Baikal sustains 2630 different species of animals and plants, 80% of which are unique to it, and can’t be found anywhere else.
Oh, and by the way? Under both the lake and it’s underwater sediment some of Earth’s tallest mountains(plural!) are submerged, their height over 7000 meters.
Lake Baikal is perhaps one of the world’s most amazing, awe-inspiring, and unique locations, and I would seriously recommend everybody who has some free time on their hands to discover more on their own.
P.S. Have I mentioned that when it freezes (fully, whoa!) it’s ice looks like this? And you can listen to some beautiful sounds you can make with it here!

Lake Baikal has seals, even though it’s more than a thousand miles from any ocean.  No one’s really sure how they got there.
